There is a simple law we should all pay heed too.
If you want something you’ve never had, you must do something you’ve never done.
This is simple in theory, but not simple in practice. Put another way we can say, if you want different results, you have to try something new.
When I first left the Coast Guard I took the first job that was offered to me. General Motors. What a beautiful mistake that was.
For years I hated going into that place. As if the job itself wasn’t bad enough, the atmosphere was toxic.
For years I dragged myself into work, miserable but strangely content.
What was I doing? I become comfortable and complacent with life, in all of its misery, benefits, and paychecks.
I wanted something different, but it wasn’t changing my actions to get something different. I was just going through the motions like a hamster in a wheel. Spinning, and spinning but getting nowhere.
If you want a new harvest, plant new seeds.
Plant New Seeds
This is not the easiest thing to do. Sometimes it takes a few years for a new crop to develop. But, with consistent care, and maintenance they will develop.
If you want something different, then do something different. Start today, start small, and keep forging ahead.
Be willing to go hungry today in order to feast tonight.
